Grasshopper's Week

It was our great pleasure to launch Grasshopper's Week tonight. Published by Craig Potton Publishing, written by lovely (local) Tania Norfolk & illustrated by her brother Chris Norfolk.
Wonderful to have their families and friends celebrating and supporting Tania's debut children's book.

Villainous Teen Book Group

 

We had heaps of fun yesterday with our teen book group. Our topic was villains!  We all agreed that Professor Umbridge was mean-spirited and down right nasty, Voldemort was a classic evil character, President Snow was a villain (along with his regime), but the people in District 1 were just selfish and self-absorbed, Mrs Coulter dangerously charming and Mrs Trunchbull ...well what can you say!

Aleksandra & Daniel Mizielinski

We hosted authors Daniel and Aleksandra Mizielinski at Red Gallery this afternoon. They were signing their books H.O.U.S.E and D.E.S.I.G.N as well as previewing their new titles Maps, Welcome to Mamoko, and Welcome to Mamoko in the year 3000 (due out in April)

Leo lost in his own jungle

It's amazing what you can find lurking in the children's section. Today we found Leo (who loves books and animals) lost in his own private jungle.

Books for Flynn

Briony selecting books for 1 year old Flynn's birthday present on behalf of his Granny. After much debate and deliberation she chose Zou and The Big Book of Words and Pictures, two of our staff favourites.

Ollie and his prize

This is Ollie, who came in to spend the voucher he received for winning his school's gardening competition! The winning piece was a gardening book and a living wreath created by Ollie himself. He walked way with a couple of klutz lettering books to keep him entertained for the holidays.

Happy Birthday Soane

Soane on his 2nd birthday, reading Demolition with his Dad Leki. Soane partook of a truck cake and a huge stack of books for his birthday. Clearly he has a bright future ahead.
